CLS is a local and independent business that has been around for 18 years. We believe that our extensive experience in creating after-school programs has brought us where we are. All the programs are safe and offer structured after-school time to your children.
We are honored to provide aftercare for the schools we serve, and we can't wait to start another school year!
CLS AFTER-SCHOOL PROGRAM
Our after-school program is held at Hearst Elementary School from 3:00 PM to 6 PM, Monday- Friday.
Our after-school structure includes snack time (not provided by CLS) outdoor time, a fun activity together such as arts and crafts for Pre-K through 1st grade, or STEM, homework assistance, and indoor activities for the upper grades.
Children are dismissed by their morning teacher to our CLS team, from inside the building or from the playground.
Instructions and further details will be sent to families prior to the first day of school.

Parents are required to create an account or to log in their existing account before they can purchase services.
HOW WILL MY CHILD'S SCHEDULE LOOK LIKE?

3:00 PM - 3:30 PM Attendance and snack time
3:30 PM - 4:30 PM Outdoor Recess or Spanish
4:30 PM – 5:30 PM Manual activity and/or indoor games
5:45 PM – 6:00 PM Dismissal
Typical afternoon grades 2-5

Your child can be picked up anytime, either from the playground or through the main entrance.

ENROLLMENT AND REGISTRATION DATES
Families are required to pay a deposit to hold their spot. The deposit equals to one month tuition fees and is not refundable.
RETURNING CLS STUDENTS AND CURRENT SCHOOL FAMILIES
Remaining days until the deadline:
- If current families pay the deposit by July 31: Their child will start Monday, August 26 (K-5th grade) or Thursday, August 29 (for Pre-K)
- July 31 to September 1: Enrollment will be closed
- If current families pay the deposit after September 1: Their child will start 10 business days after CLS' Office receives the registration. The starting date will be confirmed via e-mail.

NEWLY ENROLLED FAMILIES AT HEARST
CLS reserves spots for newly enrolled families accepted by the administration of the school.
Remaining days until the deadline:
- If newly enrolled families pay the deposit, or sign up for the drop-in options, between April 25 and August 11: Their child will start Monday, August 26 (K-5th grade) or Thursday, August 29 (for Pre-K)
- If newly enrolled pay the deposit, or sign up for the drop-in package, between August 11 and August 23: Their child will start Tuesday, September 3
- August 24 to September 1: Enrollment will be closed
- If newly enrolled families pay the deposit after September 1: Their child will start 10 business days after CLS' Office receives your registration. The starting date will be confirmed via e-mail.
TUITION FEES
Before care 5 days/week $165/month
- After-school program 5 days/week $385/month, 4 days/week $352/month, 3 days/week 276/month, 2 days/week $200.
- After-school drop ins: package of 10 $400 - 1 package/year per child. A 48-hour notice is required for after-school drop ins.
- Before-care drop ins: package of 10 $200. A 48-hour notice is required for before care drop ins.
- Spanish $180/month, classes are held twice/week - Students must attend twice a week after-school on Mondays and Wednesdays. Books and workbooks are included in the tuition fees.
- Art $120/month, classes are held once/week (all material is included).
- School's closing camps $110/day (registrations will be available in August 2024).
All prices are per child.
More extracurricular activities will be added in the fall.
CLS fees are calculated for the school year by counting ONLY the days school is open (except for drop-ins). Tuition is the same every month regardless of the number of program days in each month. Tuition is calculated for the school year program and billed in ten equal monthly installments, starting August 1st, 2024, through April 1, 2025. CLS does not bill on a per diem basis or prorate the month if your child is absent. CLS offers financial aid to families that aren't able to pay the full price. WITHDRAWAL FROM THE PROGRAM
We require a 30-day notice to withdraw from the program. Thus, parents are not responsible for any other payment if the withdrawal form is submitted within this time frame. Withdrawals can be made using this link.
WHAT's NEW TO CLS FOR SCHOOL YEAR 2024-2025?
We heard you!
CLS will have a new registration portal, starting in July 2024. Some of the benefits of this new portal will be:
- Enroll and un-enroll (with 30-day notice)
- Get immediate access to receipts and statements (including our EIN number)
- Enroll in camps
- Get notifications
- Send messages through the app (which you will be able to download on your phone). Messages can be seen by our coordinators in real time.
It is going to be a great improvement that CLS is making so families can enjoy a user-friendly process!
WHAT HAPPENS AFTER YOU HAVE PAID THE DEPOSIT?
Families that have paid the deposit through the website will be notified to create an account on the portal and to complete a simple registration form by July 31st, as well as setting up a recurring payment. The recurring payments will start August 1st, 2024, for the month of September, which will include the last week in August. The recurring payments will end in April 1, 2025, covering May (2025) tuition fees. Your deposit will apply to June 2025. WHY CLS MUST SET DEADLINES FOR PAYING THE DEPOSIT?
Planning always wins!
Knowing early on our enrollment will give us the time to hire and train our staff, plan activities, extracurricular activities, purchase material, and to put the request in for the correct number of classrooms that we will need to run our programs. This last process will need to be completed a month in advance with DGS/DCPS.
READY TO REGISTER?
STEP 1 - Fill out the student registration form through Procare.
STEP 2 - PURCHASE THE SERVICE(S) YOU WOULD LIKE TO LIKE TO ENROLL FOR.
After 3 business days, your student registration through Procare should be accepted. It will give you access to purchase the services you would like to enroll for.
