CLS CAMPS 2024-2025

COME AND HAVE FUN!

CLS offers camps during DCPS Closings, some Federal Holidays, and Spring Break. Click here to view DCPS schedule.

CLS runs camps in three different locations:

  • St. Paul’s Lutheran Church – 4900 Connecticut Avenue N.W Washington, DC 20008. Please note that your child does not need to be enrolled in after-school at CLS to attend camps. Students attending Hearst Elementary School are welcome to join.
  • Brent Elementary School for DCPS Closings Camps, restricted to Brent students only. Note that other camps, such as Spring Break and Federal holidays are held at St Paul's.
  • Lafayette Elementary School, restricted to Lafayette students only. Note that only DCPCS Closings Camps are offered at this location. Other camps, such as Spring Break and Federal holidays are held at St. Paul's.

CLS does not offer camps during Thanksgiving and Winter Break.

This package includes 10/10, 10/11, 11/4, 11/5, 1/17, 1/27, 2/14, 3/13, 3/14, 4/7.  This package does not include the federal holidays.

DETAILS AND SCHEDULE

Students are divided according to their age group. Camps are structured in different periods.  Children will enjoy a full day of activities and free play. 

Weather permitting camps include a lot of playground time. 

Pre-K and K children have a break in the middle of the day for nap or quiet time. 

General schedule for the day for DCPS closings camps

  • 7:30-9 am – Welcome, hand washing, general play   
  • 9:00-9:30 am – Activity 1  
  • 9:30-10 am – Rhythm and movement 
  • 10-11 am – Snack and Free Outdoor Play   
  • 11 – 11:30 am – Activity 2  
  • 11:30 am – 12:00 pm – Read out loud for Pre-K and K, Activity sheets or board games for 1st and up   
  • 12-1 pm – Lunch   
  • 1-2 pm – Reading time or drawing for older kids and quiet/nap time for PreK and K  
  • 2:00-2:30 pm – Activity 3  
  • 2:30 – 3 pm - Team building/ outdoor games if weather allows
  • 3-4:30 pm – Snack and Free Outdoor Play  
  • 4:30-5 pm – Activity 4 
  • 5-5:45 pm – Indoor Free Play or Rhythm and movement 
  • 5:45-6 pm – Clean up and dismissal

CAMP CANCELATION POLICY

CLS accepts students up to the deadline, 5 business days prior to the camp day.

CLS will not refund any camps. However, if camps are cancelled with regular notice (5 business days or more), CLS will issue a credit for future camps only. This policy is not applicable to the discounted camp package.

CLS will not be able to apply camp credits to other services, such as after-school tuition, electives, before care, etc.

READY TO REGISTER?

I AM A CLS PARENT AND HAVE A PROCARE ACCOUNT

1. Go to MyProcare.com.
2. Enter your email address (the email you have on file with Capitol Language Services) and
click on Secure Login.
3. Once logged in, please click on the View button next to Registrations are available under the Alerts section.
5. Click on Begin Re-Registration.
6. Select a child to register.
7. Register for the camp on your choice 

I AM NOT A CLS PARENT YET AND I DON'T HAVE A PROCARE ACCOUNT

  1. Fill out the student registration form through Procare below using the link associated to your school.
  2. After 3 business days, your student registration through Procare should be accepted. It will give you access to purchase the camps you would like to enroll for.
